Welcome to the Science of Learning Workshop
This workshop is divided into five different sections derived from the book Make It Stick, The Science of Successful Learning by Peter C. Brown, Henry L. Roediger III, and Mark A. McDaniel. The “Big Idea” of this course is to teach adult learners about the most common learning myths, proven learning strategies, and suggestions for learning strategy implementation within your own organization or your own personal development.

Course Overview
To begin the workshop, move the computer mouse pointer over “Class #1” located in the left-hand column of this page. A drop down will appear with the title of each week’s individual workshop page. Start with week one by reading the learning objectives, weekly content summaries, suggestions for implementation connections to field or discipline, and suggestions for lesson implementation. All workshops include a short YouTube video to further enhance the week's lesson. Finally, apply the lesson by taking a short Quizlet formative assessment located at the bottom of each page.

Requirements for Completion
To successfully complete this workshop, students must read the four weekly workshops in order and view the Illusions of Knowing video workshop, view the videos contained within each individual weekly workshop, and apply lessons learned by completing all the formative assessments.
This workshop can be completed by using a PC, Mac, tablet, or mobile device with audio capability. A high-speed internet connection is strongly recommended.

Instructor Information
Bret is a graduate student at Wright State University pursuing a Masters of Science in Leadership Development (MSLD) combined with Instructional Design for Digital Learning (IDDL). He is employed by Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a facility manager, and is a veteran of the Ohio Air National Guard with 30 years of combined civilian and military service.
Bret is a graduate student at Wright State University pursuing a Masters of Science in Leadership Development (MSLD) combined with Instructional Design for Digital Learning (IDDL).
